A BRIEF RUNDOWN...VR-TV is an original story made by KAZ PLASMIC. It takes place in an alternative version of the 80's, one much more technologically advanced than the 1980's we remember.

The year is 1987.
The world reigned by a massive multi-media company
called CONGLOMOCORP. Conglomocorp launches a TV channel that becomes the pioneer for music videos, much like MTV.

One day, Conglomocorp puts out a casting call.
This time, though, it's not for a commercial or a bumper - it's for a new, experimental venture called VR-TV.

VR-TV is billed as 'the ultimate music video'.It's a highly advanced virtual realityscape, one where musicians are turned into avatars and are placed in a giant digital house that is broadcasted across live
television almost 24/7.

The reality behind this television programming is that while the simulation takes place, all of the musicians have been placed in a coma, and have been hooked up to machines that input their consciousnesses into the simulation.While their bodies are inactive, their minds are far from it.

The whole operation is monitored by a sentient AI.A sentient, malicious AI.While the contract stated that this experiment would only last for about a year's time, and that this was all just for research purposes...the AI has other plans.

For now, it's just a bunch of cool things you can read on the internet. HUNKY DORY + LYLE

★ FUNNY FRIENDS ★

Good buddies!
Hunky is a little weirded out by Lyle's casual mentions of thirsting for violence, but she's more weirded out
from concern for his well-being. She tries to look out for him and makes sure he doesn't go off the deep end. Their cheery fun-loving attitudes gel well together, and they hang out pretty often.

KEEPHOUSE + PEACEMOUTH

Keephouse is the husband, and Peacemouth, the wife.
They aren't even married, and neither feel intimate or romantic attraction to the other.
They refer to themselves with married terms because they just think it indicates a sense of superiority. For as highly advanced as they
both are, they don't exactly have the best understanding of human social conventions. They're more like work friends than anything. With all that being said, the two still have the same dynamic as an old married couple - much to everyone's confusion.

SYNDI + PEACEMOUTH

✺ CREATION & CREATOR ✺

Things are strained between them.
Technically speaking, Peacemouth is Syndi's father.
He had the idea to create her, and she exists because of him. But their relationship is far from familial. Peacemouth only really cares about Syndi so long as she brings up VR-TV's ratings.
Syndi is often short with him, much to Peacemouth's utter apathy. He tends to be dismissive of her worries and only shows her affection when he has to fix her or make new additions to her software.

KEEPHOUSE + SYNDI

★ ON GOOD TERMS ★

Syndi prefers Keephouse's company over Peacemouth's.
Things are still somewhat clunky between them, but Keephouse is much more keen on her status as Syndi's mother. Even if her and Peacemouth aren't really married.
Keephouse gets disgruntled with Syndi from time to time, but ultimately she wants Syndi to thrive in this weird world that she finds herself in. Keephouse tries to coach Syndi the best she can into being a more 'whole-feeling' individual, and offers her advice whenever Syndi reaches a low point. Syndi is greatly appreciative of Keephouse for all the things she does for her, even if their relationship is by no means perfect.

KLINE + MAX

...aka these two have a REALLY weird gay thing going on.
Initially, they're more like enemies.
At first the two bicker endlessly, with a lot of the show's craziest moments coming from instances of them butting heads with each other.
Over time, though, their hatred for each other (which is actually quite one-sided as Max is usually the instigator of their bickering sessions) morphs into something a lot more complex, resulting in the two discovering a lot about themselves that they'd repressed for a very long time. This mostly stems from Kline wondering if love would work the same in a digital world as it does in reality and he views the thing he has with Max as more of an 'experiment' than a relationship. His attitude becomes much less clinical and more sincere as the relationship develops, and with time, it develops into a much more normal ordeal.
TLDR: Love the chemistry between you two! Don't let it happen again.

BETTIE + PEACEMOUTH

✺ PUPPET & PUPPETEER ✺

Who in their right mind let Peacemouth dig up a dead person?
Peacemouth has revived Bettie from beyond the grave and placed them in the VR-TV simulation against their will with the goal of turning them into something much less grungy. Essentially, Peacemouth wants to manipulate Bettie into being a marketable popstar. He's unusally nice around Bettie and his manipulation seems much less outward than usual around them. Even though they've long since died, Bettie still has the punk ethos instilled in them and typically doesn't give in - much to Peacemouth's dismay.

BEOS + FUCHSIA

★ GOOD FRIENDS ★

Get along super well with each other!
Mostly by the virtue of them both being the most chill cast members VR-TV has to offer. Fucshia admires Beos' talent a lot, and over the course of the show they work a lot with each other. Who knows, maybe what they have could develop into something more...? Only time will tell!

꩜ + FUCHSIA

★ (RELUCTANT) FRIENDS ★

Their friendship comes at the cost of a one-sided prank war.
Fuchsia is easy to scare and even easier to startle. Naturally, this makes her a huge target for ꩜, who LOVES playing practical jokes - mean-spirited or otherwise - on people. But Fuchsia grew from being a target to being a friend to ꩜ the more he spent time with her and understood her talent. Now, the two are on much better terms - but ꩜ still plays a trick on her from time to time!

꩜ + MAX

★ KINDRED SPIRITS ★

Unfortunately for everyone else, these two get along perfectly.
꩜ and Max almost immediately clicked as friends, since they both absolutely love causing mayhem for everyone around them! They have a mutual admiration for each other, with each one finding the other's perception of and experiences with the rock and metal genre fascinating. Besides, any friend of an electric guitar is a friend to Max. It goes without saying that they get into a lot of chaos together.

KLINE + PEACEMOUTH

✺ ONE WORD. CONCERNING. ✺

NOT NORMAL.
Due to his strong commitment to furthering technological advancements, Kline falls for Peacemouth's lies hook, line, and sinker. Kline idolizes Peacemouth as a technological marvel, fascinated by his intelligence and what it could imply for technology going forward. Peacemouth...shares no such reverence for Kline. He manipulates Kline by using him as a test subject, a willing one at that. Kline shakes his devotion to Peacemouth eventually, but Peacemouth is not as eager to let Kline get away so easily.

BEOS + KLINES

★ OLD FRIENDS ★

Their bond predates VR-TV.
Beos and Kline were actually frequent collaborators before Beos' 'disappearence', sharing an interest for the more technical sides of music. For years, Kline wondered where she went, and how she seemingly dropped off the face of the Earth. It's a massive relief to him that she's still doing ok, and their friendship has picked up since rediscovering each others's whereabouts in the digital landscape. While she's happy to see him again, Beos can't help but be extremely concerned about Kline's sudden fascination with becoming an unfeeling machine.

LYLE + PEACEMOUTH

✺ UNEASE & INTRIGUE ✺

On Peacemouth's behalf, that is.
Lyle seems to be the only contestant that Peacemouth is scared of. Somewhat. Peacemouth views Lyle more as an unsettling oddity than a direct threat to his existence. He has little patience for Lyle's countless abnormalities and often can't look him in the eye - which can't be said for the other cast members. Lyle is none the wiser, and will continue to make Peacemouth feel consistently creeped out. Secretly, Peacemouth is investigating how to "fix" Lyle. But what exactly could this entail...?

BEOS + PEACEMOUTH

✺ MALICIOUS COMPLIANCE ✺

Beos is completely indifferent to Peacemouth - despite his best efforts.
Beos was the first human to be planted in the VR-TV simulation. She was kidnapped by Peacemouth 7 years ago because he wanted her to write a song for him. Well, it's been 7 years, and still no song. Beos keeps making prerequisits, telling Peacemouth he'll make that song of his... so long as he gives her something for it, like a rare trophy or a new digital pet. She keeps changing her mind, though, and she's been in this cycle for 7 years, turning down each of his offerings and asking him for something else. Who knows why Peacemouth continues to keep up with the cycle she's put him in - maybe he's just that desperate. Or maybe he just can't figure out how to unplug her from the machine. Either option is completely possible.

HUNKY DORY + MAX

★ UNLIKELY FRIENDS ★

Not half bad!
Surprisingly, these two get along - even though they couldn't be more different from one another. Max thought Dory's shtick of making absurd parody songs was hilarious, and he became her friend pretty quickly. Dory is just as surprised at the fact that Max wants anything to do with her distinctly un-metal, distinctly dorky ordeal as you might be - but she's humbled to be considered his buddy nonetheless! Max tries to rope Dory into getting into his more extreme antics from time to time, but Dory has her wits about her and knows when to dial it back. She's usually trying to constrain him from doing anything too wild. Which only works some of the time.
